I was location scouting with Cassie in Madison, OH for an upcoming short film I am working on and took some pictures along the way. I also really enjoyed talking to her grandfather and took a few portraits of him when he was talking to me on the porch.

I have always wanted to make this type of picture. This is my roommate, Cameron. I walked into the room and had to shoot this picture. Hope to do more “people looking at screen” pictures in the future with different screens.

Makeup Shoot with Cassie

I got the chance to work with the very talented Cassie Holloway in Cleveland to help build her portfolio with some conceptual makeup images. We started the day off with something simple in the studio then by night, we were photographing a zombie in the woods. I really enjoyed this shoot because it gave me a chance to play around in the studio and experiment with different lighting. It is really interesting what you can do with makeup.

I photographed Brianne Malone on Friday to help jumpstart her lifestyle portfolio. I liked these two shots from the session. Got the chance to lug out my on-location strobe with the beauty dish on the last shot. Lots of power for such a portable kit.

Fireman Fund – Cleveland Fire Dept.

I worked with the Fireman Fund out of CA to cover this event where the Cleveland Fire Department was presented a $5000 grant check to install smoke detectors in housing units in Cleveland.

Mouth Wired Shut Amp Endorsement

Photographed Mouth Wired Shut in the studio (the one I built in my new house!) for their new endorsement with Hayden Amps and Ashdown Engineering. Joe from Mouth Wired Shut is a good friend of mine and I always enjoy shooting with him. Every shoot is a new exploration and we come away with stronger photos each time. We also did a review video of Joe’s and Tommy’s amps, which I have included in the bottom of this post. I also found out on this shoot how much I love beauty dishes.

Small Change has been a film production I have been working on a whole bunch lately and wanted to show everyone this poster. The little star, Hannah was a great model for this photo and I really like the final product. We should be going into post production soon and have this short film out in May!

MSNBC – Miracle Baby

Had another great assignment from MSNBC last week and wanted to share a few pictures with you. Jason and his wife, Jennifer have been trying to have a baby for two years and became hopeless after they found out Jason was not producing sperm. After a testicular biopsy, the doctors found one sperm that they injected into Jennifer’s harvested egg. The egg became fertilized through in vitro fertilization and the doctors returned the single embryo back into Jennifer, which gave them their daughter, Kenley in April 2011. Jennifer couldn’t believe their one last chance of having a baby through in vitro fertilization actually worked, she said it was like “winning the lottery, but even better”. They are the only family in the United States that has had any success with only one egg and one sperm left.
